Board of Advisors

Mr. Brown is the President of Jemison Investment Co., Inc., a diversified investment holding and management company with interests in a variety of industries.  He has been an officer of Jemison for nearly 15 years and serves as a director to over 18 individual companies in addition to serving as a director or trustee to numerous civic organizations.  Prior to joining Jemison, David worked for Cyrus J. Lawrence Inc., a New York-based institutional investment banking firm.

Mr. Brown resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with his wife Janie and has three sons currently attending college.  He holds a J.D. and a M.B.A. from the University of Alabama, as well as a B.S. in Business Administration from Louisiana State University.


Mr. Davis is Chairman of the Board for Metalplate Galvanizing, Inc., a provider of hot dip industrial galvanizing serving the steel industry throughout the Southeast.  For the past 34 years he has been either President or Chairman of Metalplate, where he has led the company from its founding to become the benchmark leader in the galvanizing industry.

Mr. Davis lives in Birmingham, Alabama and holds a Masters degree from Columbia University as well as a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania.


Mr. Dore is the Founder and Chairman of Global Industries, Ltd., an international provider of offshore construction, engineering and support services trading on the NASDAQ exchange under the ticker symbol GLBL.  Mr. Dore purchased Global Divers in 1973 and has spent the last 30 years building the Company to its current leadership position in its industry.  He is the past president of the Association of Diving Contractors and the Offshore Pipeline Contractors Association and a past director of the National Ocean Industries Association. Mr. Dore’ is also a class of 2000 recipient of the Horatio Alger Award.

Mr. Dore currently resides in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with his wife Connie.  Mr. Dore holds a Masters degree from McNeese State University.


David Klock, Ph.D. is Dean of the School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Wachovia Chair in Business Administration. He served as Chairman and CEO of CompBenefits Corporation from 1993 to 2004. Dr. Klock became an active consultant to CompBenefits in 1981 and was appointed Chairman and CEO in 1993. During his tenure as CEO and/or Chairman, CompBenefits grew from $30 million in revenue to over $340 million in revenue with industry leading profits margin. From 2002 to 2005, Dr. Klock was also Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Provence Healthcare (PRV-NYSE). Since 2006, Dr. Klock has served as a Member of the Board of Directors, a Member of the Audit Committee, and Chair of the Special Litigation Committee for Cheesecake Factory, Inc. (NASDAQ-CAKE).

Prior to coming to UAB, Dr. Klock served as Dean of the College of Business Administration and Interim Dean, Collins School of Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona. He also served as non-management Chairman for CompBenefits Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Klock obtained a Doctorate in Finance from the University of Illinois. In 1987, he served as an Insurance Economist at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Dr. Klock is co-author of four books and over 50 other scholarly publications.


Mr. Peinhardt is the founder and president of Vantage Associates, a Birmingham-based general management consulting company specializing in strategic planning.  He has been involved in strategic planning for over 20 years and has consulted with the senior management of numerous leading companies in the Southeast.  Due to his expertise in his field, he is frequently called upon to speak to industry and corporate groups and at conventions on strategic planning, marketing, customer driven approaches, leadership, professionalism and management.

Mr. Peinhardt is a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, and holds a M.B.A. from the Manderson Graduate School of Business at The University of Alabama as well as a B.S. in Marketing.


Dr. Sanjay Singh is Co-founder and Vice President of Computer Technology Solutions, a software engineering firm specializing in customized business solutions and an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Singh has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies and private organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Southern Company, BellSouth, IBM, and Microsoft. Further, he has lectured in 10 countries and studied over 200 companies in Europe, North America, and Asia. He was the past President of Society for Information Manager – Alabama Chapter and serves on the Executive Boards of Tech Birmingham, YMCA – Birmingham Metro Area, and Alabama India Business Partnership.

Dr. Singh is a resident of Birmingham, Alabama and is married to Dora Eugenia Pineda-Rivera and enjoys vacationing with his two children Vivek Gabriel and Indira Evangelina. Sanjay holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and Strategic Management from the University of Georgia.


Mr. Simmons is the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Executive Leadership, a Birmingham-based ministry that focuses on counseling businessmen and community leaders to develop their spiritual lives through a variety of programs. Prior to founding the Center, Mr. Simmons worked in the insurance brokerage business as President and CEO of publicly held H.R.H. Insurance for nearly 10 years.

Mr. Simmons is a resident of Birmingham, Alabama and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from The University of the South.
